Tooth whitening is one of the most impactful ways to improve your smile. It is simple and safe when delivered by a registered dental professional.
Will tooth whitening damage my teeth?
Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. It cannot make a complete colour change; but it will lighten the existing shade.
Why would I consider tooth whitening?
There are a number of reasons why you might get your teeth whitened. Everyone is unique; and just as our hair and skin colour vary, so do our teeth. Very few people have brilliant-white teeth, and our teeth can also become more discoloured as we get older.
Your teeth can also be stained on the surface through food and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine and blackcurrant. Smoking can also stain teeth.
What whitening procedures do you offer?
At Century Dental Clinic we can provide in-chair whitening* and home whitening.
How do I proceed with Tooth Whitening?
We will book you for an initial consultation with one of our dentists where we will:
- Check that your teeth and gums are healthy and suitable for whitening
- Discuss the best whitening treatment option for you
A hygienist appointment is highly recommended prior to teeth whitening to get rid of any plaque or tartar adhered to your teeth, allowing for a more even whitening of the whole tooth surface
